Sample Opening Prayer In A Debut Reception

Letter to Beppe Severgnini, Italians - Follow up

The letter I sent to the forum Italians of Corriere della Sera, which is managed by Beppe Severgnini, was published - with some cut - on June 2. You can find it here .

Anyway, copied below the text of the letter:
European: vote to decide
Dear Beppe,
I'm 26 and I'm writing from Barcelona. I'm reading with interest the debate on the European elections as a result of your decision not to vote. As secretary general of the Catalan section of JEF (Young European Federalists www.jef.eu - www.jefcatalunya.com) and convinced European, I must speak my mind on the matter. Beppe, I respect your decision not to vote, but do not share.
not voting means not wanting to decide on the many issues on which the EU Parliament will be asked to decide in the next five years. True, the European Parliament does not have the same powers of a national Parliament, but a lot of legislation that is then adopted by the Member States takes place in Brussels and Strasbourg: I \u200b\u200breally do not want to have a say on this? I know that your main objection is: I'm not going to vote because most of the candidates are old names of the people without any knowledge or policy of the European institutions. I concur, in part, your thoughts and your disappointment, but not all the candidates are like this, come on. Surely, within the lists there are men and women who deserve our vote and we will worthily represent the European Parliament. And since the electoral law allows you to apply your preferences, it is up to us to inform us about the candidates that we believe best suited to the role of the European Parliament. Internet, in this, we can give a big hand, especially us Italians abroad.
