Dear Editor RAI Valle d'Aosta,

there is a group of Vald O tain interest in the political, economic, social and civic life of our region.

As you know well, the Italian information system - ed especially radio and television public service offered by RAI - is submitted as soon long sharp criticism and accusations of bias that resulted in a bitter political debate (and not).

Anyway, we are writing to express no subsequent complaints or criticism and recriminations, May to advance a proposal that may be - at least in our view - interesting for your group and journalism from the perspective of the alleged "active citizenship".

From the second half of 2007, the English public television TVE has a deeper issue PolitiQ eu " Tengo una pregunta para Usted " ( literally translate into" I have a question for you ). In addition, we believe that the RAI headquarters in the Aosta Valley, which runs television autonomous spaces for programs of a cultural nature which are not negate the importance especially for the strengthening of national culture vald ôtaine, can serve as " laboratory 'for Italy while offering a program similar to " Tengo una pregunta para Usted . We believe in more than a program of this type would help the reconciliation of the world cityoens political-institutional, local, increasing dialogue, participation and direct control over the legislative and executive key element of popular sovereignty.

We kindly ask you to consider our proposal and its feasibility in the context of journalistic RAI-VDA, and - naturally - for us to realize your decisions in this regard.

are a group of Val d'Aosta interested in the future political, economic, social and civic matters in our region.

As you know, the Italian information system - and especially the public service broadcaster RAI - has long been the subject of criticism and accusations of bias that resulted in a bitter political debate (and beyond).

We also believe that such a transfer would help in bringing the citizens of the world's political and institutional establishment, increasing dialogue, interest, participation and direct control over the legislative and executive power, as the heart of popular sovereignty.

Very likely you have all heard about Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi's declaration on the belarussian dictator Alexander Lukashenko .

Besides the seriousness of Berlusconi's words, extremely dangerous for the potential democratic transition of Belarus, I have been shocked by the deafening silence on the part of the European institutions . Therefore, with my friends from "JEF Catalunya" (always very active against Lukashenko's regime), I have prepared an email to be sent to the recently named President of the EU Council, Mister Herman Van Rompuy , calling for his immediate intervention in the debate. I hereby attach for your information the text of the letter: obviously, everybody is free to use the text as a draft for a similar email to be sent to President Van Rompuy.

PS: please notice that we have also tried, unsuccesfully, to involve JEF Europe and JEF Italy in this activity . The former hasn't replied to our proposal, whilst the latter rejected our suggestion of joint activity. A true pity, in my opinion, and a wasted opportunity.

Dear President,

The recent visit of the President of the Italian government, Silvio Berlusconi, to Minsk (Belarus) has transformed into an incredible defence of President Alexander Lukashenko, a man that the European Union defines as "the last European dictator" and "persona non grata on European soil". As you well know, Berlusconi has praised Lukashenko, stating that "the people love him, as shown by the latest election results, which are recognized the world over."

The words of President Berlusconi are not just offensive towards the Belarusians that suffer under the regime established by Lukashenko, but also for the rest of Europe that believes in liberty and defend democratic values.

Nevertheless, in our opinion the deafening silence on the part of the European institutions is even more serious: Ludz Gullner, spokesperson of the High Representative for foreign policy of the EU, Catherine Ashton, has made no declaration beyond "no comment" on the part of the Council.

JEF - Young European Federalists of Catalunya, as a Europhile organization that promotes the defence of democracy, and which has always actively condemned the Lukashenko regime, calls for immediate public declarations denouncing the Belarusian dictatorship and the declarations of President Berlusconi, establishing a clear line on the part of the EU in favour of democracy and human rights.

Day No Berlusconi: the my doubts, my hopes

Like most of you know I suppose, was opened Saturday, Dec. 5 for a national demonstration to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Berlusconi Silivia.

The event is of great importance for two reasons:

1. Objective: Silvio Berlusconi to resign and lead a company which seem desperate but does not harm to try and - above all - you have to talk about this, put pressure on public making available all information on garbage perpetuated by the poet of Arcore;
2. Source and organization : The event started network without political support and economic importance. Comes from the people, especially young, who have spoken in Facebook, instant messaging, blogs, and have set up an event to be held throughout Italy (the focus will obviously be on Republic Square in Rome) and also outside of the country. Chapeau.

view of the fact above my participation should appear obvious . Moreover, in a post on June 30 in this same blog , I wrote:

" do e have forced Berlusconi to resign to abandon those institutions that age-prodiana separately - has occupied since 1994. must go to trial . Point. [...] Organizziamoci, protest (civil, for heaven's sake .... I do not accuse it of inciting violence !), manifest! "

Yet as praise for this event which I hope will bring the first fruit, I remains a doubt, uncertainty regarding my participation. Let me explain: The event was opened specifically for "demand the resignation of Silvio Berlusconi" . A general protest against its bleak work, in fact. But then, I wonder, however, there is the risk that such an initiative will be branded by sources close to the premier as " populist, demagogic, the victim of a vulgar and anti-Berlusconi easy come, unconstructive , etc.. etc..? In other words, keep on wondering, would not have been more effective to organize a demonstration against A measure of the Berlusconi many that we do not like? There would be spoiled for choice: shameful laws, reform of Justice, to fool the international level, nuclear, etc etc. Just choose! A good example would come from ' appeal launched by Roberto Saviano on the pages of the Republic against the law on the process short ( can sign it, as I have done here ) here, a pretty popular event against the reform process and to invite the Premier to defend themselves in court rather than on TV. Would not it be more effective, understandable and useful?

Nevertheless I remain impressed by the organizers and award their commendable work . It also confirms my belief about the importance of street demonstrations. But there is someone who is willing and able to convince the potential effectiveness of the event on Saturday?
